Introduction
Just like you, I was intrigued by the Minion-themed WiFi routers that appeared on Reddit. Curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to purchase and review them.
Design and Features
The routers come in two versions: Bob, with WiFi 6 capabilities, and Kevin, which supports WiFi 6E and is tri-band. Both models are surprisingly well-equipped, with Kevin featuring a 2.5 gig uplink port and a powerful Qualcomm processor.
Performance
Despite their novelty appearance, these routers are not just for show. They support modern security standards like WPA3 and have mesh capability. However, there were some issues with band switching and signal consistency, especially through physical barriers.
Conclusion
While they might appeal for their cute design, the Minion routers offer decent functionality but might not be suitable for everyone. Their performance can be inconsistent, and there are some user experience flaws.
